The latest announcements about Pluto suggest that there might be icy volcanoes - possibly still active! Scientists have found what look to be volcanoes, but the surface is mostly frozen nitrogen, methane and carbon monoxide. So they would have to be ice volcanoes. Wait...what? "Volcano" and "ice" don't usually happen in the same sentence... The only explanation so far is that there might be radioactivity in Pluto's core that is heating up the ice and causing these volcano things. So there could be an ocean of water, nitrogen, ammonia, or methane underneath that erupts as an icy slurry on the surface.
There's also new information about the moons and stuff. Yada yada yada. But...Ice Volcanoes!
